The Governor calls for the revenue agency to be depoliticised

Before the provincial MPs, during the oral question with debate, the Governor of Tshopo, Paulin Lendongolia Lebabonga, asked the elected representatives to get involved in depoliticising the province's revenue agency.

“Honourable members, I ask for your involvement in depoliticising the revenue agency. Our revenue agency is politicised to the teeth and, when it becomes so, it loses its original purpose. Some officers think they are untouchable because they are backed by political actors. Everyone then does as they please on the ground, and that is what explains the difficulties we face today in collecting revenue.”

Paulin Lendongolia Lebabonga, Governor of Tshopo

For the Governor, this politicisation explains the province's current difficulties in collecting revenue.
