Oral question: MP Senold Tandia Akomboyo calls for inquiry commissions on roads and revenue agencies

At the end of the oral question with debate put to the Governor of Tshopo, Paulin Lendongolia Lebabonga, at the Provincial Assembly, provincial MP Senold Tandia Akomboyo presented his conclusions.

The MP, who tabled the question, considers that the Governor's answers to the concerns raised, notably on road infrastructure and the collection of public revenue, are plausible but call for in-depth investigations.

“In view of the answers given by His Excellency the Provincial Governor to the most pertinent concerns, notably those relating to road infrastructure and the collection of public revenue, I consider, as a parliamentarian who also takes a scientific approach, that these answers are plausible, but require in-depth investigations in order to shed full light on the issues raised.”

Roads: inquiry commissions on four routes

The MP proposes the immediate establishment of parliamentary inquiry commissions on four roads out of Kisangani:

  • Kisangani–Opala
  • Kisangani–Ubundu
  • Kisangani–Isangi
  • Kisangani–Banalia

These commissions would carry out documentary, budgetary, financial, accounting and technical audits, as well as a check that physical progress matches spending, in order to establish any responsibilities. Their conclusions would be examined by the Provincial Assembly in plenary session.

Revenue agencies: an inquiry at DGRNFPT and DGIPT

The MP is also calling for a parliamentary inquiry commission within the DGRNFPT and the DGIPT, following the facts reported by the Governor concerning certain officers of these agencies.

The aim: to identify any officers involved in the irregularities reported, establish responsibilities and, where the facts are proven, launch dismissal procedures and legal proceedings in accordance with the law.
